A few words on Glendale NYC

Where is Glendale exactly? Well, it is on the west-central side of Queens. As for its borders, there are the following.

  • Forest Hills and Kew Gardens to the east
  • Ridgewood to the west
  • Woodhaven to the south
  • Middle Village to the north

Before Glendale, this was a swampy area called Fresh Pond. However, this area was later turned into an industrial area while now it is more a residential neighborhood. In addition to this, the neighborhood is surrounded by cemeteries. There is a good reason for this situation. In the 19th century, the local government encouraged cemeteries owners to expand or completely build anew cemeteries in Queens and Brooklyn. Glendale became surrounded by cemeteries because of this act. This situation is called the “Cemetery Belt“. This should not discourage you from moving to Glendale. There are many advantages to living in this neighborhood.

Demographics as a perk?

There are 32,496 people living in Glendale. This can be a perk since this neighborhood is relatively small. For the same reason, it is quiet and peaceful unlike some other parts of New York. If you like the idea of having a place where you can escape the craziness of downtown, then hire movers in Woodside NY as soon as possible. It is hard to find reliable movers in New York City. However, this can be a disadvantage since some people prefer a bustling fast life in Manhattan. In addition to this, this neighborhood is not very diverse as the majority of locals are white, followed by African Americans, Asians, and other races at a very small percentage. In recent years, Hispanic or Latino Americans started moving into this neighborhood. Lastly, most locals are in their 40s and 50s, followed by people in their late 20s and 30s.
